PGX Is SafeDetailed studies in both humans and animals have shown that PGX is very safe and well tolerated. There are no specific drug interactions, but it is advised that it is best to take any medication either an hour before or after taking PGX. Since PGX is a super fiber, in the first few days or so of use it may lead to increased feelings of fullness and gassiness. That said, in a human tolerance study the frequency of these complaints were just as high in the placebo group. Nonetheless, the super fiber can be found complexed with medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) from coconut oil along with a blend of fennel, anise and caraway in a convenient soft gelatin capsule. In addition to increasing the ability of PGX to disperse and bind water when the capsule comes into contact with gastric acid, MCTs are noted for their ability to help burn fat while the herbal extract blend will help prevent any gastrointestinal issues. To take advantage of the weight loss promoting and blood sugar stabilizing effects of PGX, simply take three to six capsules 15 to 20 minutes before meals. Be sure to drink at least eight ounces of water per three capsules. For more information, visit www.hungerfreeforever.com.

Both PGX and psyllium are viscous fibers which absorb large amounts of water and form gels that increase feelings of fullness, [32] this may cause people to consume less food. The thickening of gut contents decreases intestinal passage rates, prolongs nutrient absorption and hence causes satiety [33], thus PGX with a greater viscosity has a greater effect on satiety and reduced food intake [32]. Given the greater viscosity, it was hypothesized that PGX would have better metabolic outcomes in this clinical trial.

This study investigated the effects of daily consumption of 15 g of PGX or PSY compared to control (rice flour) for 1 year. Both the PGX and PSY groups demonstrated significant reductions in energy and macronutrient intake as well as significant weight loss and improvements to body composition at 52 weeks. At12 months, energy intake and weight was significantly lower in the PGX group compared to control but was not significantly lower in the PSY group compared to control. Fat and protein intake was significantly lower in the PGX group at 3 and 6 months compared to control whereas fat and protein intake was only significantly lower in the PSY group at 3 months compared to control. In this regard, the PGX group performed better than the PSY group and was better at maintaining dietary changes and weight loss over the 12 month intervention period.

PGX (PolyGlycopleX) granules are an unsweetened highly viscous combination of well purified water-soluble polysaccharides derived from konjac root, sodium alginate, and xantham gum. Viscous fibers have been shown to reduce postprandial glucose concentrations and lower total and LDL-cholesterol, primarily by forming a gel matrix which slows gastric emptying. These viscous granules also trap ingested carbohydrates and lipids inside the gel matrix, decreasing the transport as well as the uptake of glucose and cholesterol at absorptive surfaces.

Clinical trials have shown that in addition to the benefits of glucose and lipid reduction, highly viscous fibers were found to lower insulin secretion and C-peptide in response to carbohydrate meals, and also improve glucose tolerance. Viscous fibers effectively reduce the glycemic index of foods consumed simultaneously, by preventing the postprandial spikes in blood glucose concentration.5, 6 Fiber viscosity has also been associated with increased satiety and reduced appetite; in a randomized trial, PGX reduced hunger and prospective consumption when combined with a low calorie diet, and in an earlier trial enhanced weight loss and reduced percent body fat when used in concert with lifestyle changes.7, 8 PGX Daily Granules allow for easy dosing, with 5 g of PGX per scoop, and are unflavored to allow mixing with a variety of beverages and foods.

The key ingredient used for weight loss in PGX Daily is glucomannan from the konjac root. It is a fiber source that requires the intake of a lot of water, and the reason why the PGX Daily manufacturer advises users to get enough fluids when supplementing. However, documented proof of whether or not it helps with weight loss is unavailable.

Now you may be wondering is PGX Daily safe? The PGX Daily has several side effects that have been made known. The PGX Daily is rich in soluble and dietary fibers. However, diet pills may create a laxative effect. Many users have complained about this effect, saying that they experienced loose stool.

PGX Daily Singles Description from Natural Factors PGX (PolyGlycopleX) is a precise blend of naturally occurring water-soluble polysaccharides (fibers) that together, have highly unique and desirable properties for weight loss and overall good health. PGX is the result of extensive research by the University of Toronto and the Canadian Center for Functional Medicine. PGX is the world's most viscous soluble fiber blend. The viscosity of soluble fiber is important as it relates directly to the overall health benefits. The most important advantage of PGX over other soluble fiber products is that significantly less PGX is required to obtain the same important health benefits, including appetite control and reduced food cravings.

PGX Daily can slow the absorption of oral medications if they are taken together at the same time, so medications should be taken an hour before PGX Daily or two or three hours before taking PGX Daily fibers.

Consult your physician before taking PGX Daily fibers if you are taking any medications.Diabetics should monitor their blood sugar regularly because PGX Daily fibers may lower their blood sugar level and thus may interfere with their diabetes medications, and they should consult a doctor before use.

I have tried both the soft gel capsules and the granules. I find the granules mixed with water and a dash of pomegranate juice works much better for me than the soft gel caps. I usually let the granules sit until they are a gelatinous mass and then drink that down. I find that I really do feel full and eat much less. The problem is that the granules only come in 30 unit packs and are rarely on sale, whereas you can get the large bottles of the capsules on sale every couple of months at Costco. Granules are a definite yes, capsules are okay.

I heard about PGX through a TV commercial and was intrigued to find out more. I did some research and found out that it doesn't contain any ingredients that could make you jittery so I decided to wait until it goes on sale to try it. Well, last week Zellers had it on sale for $19.99 and I bought it. I have been using PGX for exactly 6 days and I do feel a difference when I take the pill. I feel less hungry and I don't crave sweet stuff as much I did before. I also didn't experience any of the ugly side effects associated with high fiber, bloating, gas, constipation. If anything I became more regular which is great as I suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I will definitely continue to purchase PGX.

See, for me PGX doesn't really make sense. It's essentially an overpriced fiber supplement. It work by you ingesting the pills before you eat, drinking plenty of water so that the fiber expands and fills up your stomach making you eat less. Fiber (especially soluble such as pectins, psyllium etc) not only fill you up, but by doing so, slow digestion time and sugar absorption, therefore balancing out sugar levels which results in less cravings and "sugar crashes". It also helps regulate transit, prevent constipation, gently cleansing you digestive tract, absorbing toxins and carrying them out... In my opinion you are better off getting a much cheaper fiber supplement (such as psyllium, in bulk) and making in part of you daily habit. It'll not only help you manage hunger, craving (and weight) but help your overall health.

Fiber has a number of health benefits, including normalizing bowel function and preventing constipation. It's best to get fiber from food, because supplements don't provide the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that fiber-rich foods do. But fiber supplements can contribute to the recommended daily intake.

Fiber supplements can cause abdominal bloating and gas, at least initially. If you have intestinal problems, such as a history of a bowel blockage or Crohn's disease, talk to your doctor before adding a fiber supplement to your diet. It's also a good idea to ask your doctor or pharmacist whether fiber supplements interact with any medications you take.

PGX (PolyGlycopleX) is 100% natural, gluten-free super fiber complex. It works by expanding in the stomach over a 30 minute period when taken with meals. By creating a feeling of fullness and slowing digestion, PGX keeps blood sugar levels from rising too quickly after meals. Reduces food cravings and helps people achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

Softgels: Our most convenient type of PGX. The ultra matrix softgels provide an advanced delivery system for superior results. This complex matrix, when combined with stomach acid, disperses better than any other tested delivery system for soluble or insoluble fiber.

PGX is a revolutionary combination of water-soluble polysaccharides scientifically proven to provide remarkable benefits. It forms an effective gel matrix in the body which slows down gastric emptying, trapping ingested carbohydrates and lipids for reduced absorption - resulting in lower postprandial glucose concentrations, total cholesterol levels and LDL-cholesterol numbers. What's more, clinical trials have demonstrated that it helps reduce insulin secretion and C-peptide as well as providing better glycemic control with lower serum fructosamine values! By utilizing viscous fibers, PGX helps to maintain balanced blood sugar levels and reduce weight gain. Its viscosity is greater than other soluble fiber sources, allowing it to be easily administered while providing maximum efficacy in terms of decreasing appetite and improving satiety. 041b061a72
